Cookie Policy

How we use cookies and similar technologies.

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Effective Date: 8 August 2026
Last Updated: 8 August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Onyatrips uses cookies and similar technologies, and the choices available to you. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a website recognize your device across visits, remember information such as whether you are signed in, and understand how the site is used. This Policy also covers similar technologies, such as browser local storage, which serve comparable purposes. We use the term "cookies" to refer to all of these unless stated otherwise.

2. Why Onyatrips Uses Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform securely, keep you signed in, understand how Onyatrips is used, and improve our products. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality, such as staying signed in or submitting forms securely. We do not offer an opt-out for strictly necessary cookies, consistent with standard practice under applicable data protection law, which generally does not require consent for cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have requested.

4. Authentication and Session Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain secure, authenticated sessions and keep you signed in between visits. These cookies are set to be inaccessible to page scripts, which reduces the risk of theft through cross-site scripting.

5. Functional Cookies

Functional cookies remember choices you make, such as display or language preferences, to give you a more personalized experience. We may introduce functional cookies as new features are added to the Platform.

6. Analytics and Performance Cookies

We use analytics tools, including PostHog and Google Analytics, to understand how the Platform is used — for example, which pages are visited and which features are used — so we can improve it. These tools may set their own cookies or use similar identifiers, and may be provided by third parties acting on our behalf.

7. Advertising and Marketing Cookies

We do not currently use cookies to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertisements, on the Platform or elsewhere. If we introduce advertising or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and seek any consent required by applicable law before doing so.

8. Affiliate and Pixel Technologies

We do not currently use affiliate-tracking cookies or third-party marketing pixels. If we introduce these technologies in the future, we will disclose them here and provide appropriate notice and consent options where required by applicable law.

9. Session vs. Persistent Technologies

Some of our cookies are session-based and are removed when you close your browser; others are persistent and remain on your device for a defined period to keep you signed in or to support analytics measurement over time.

10. First-Party and Third-Party Technologies

Some cookies are set directly by Onyatrips ("first-party"); others are set by service providers we work with, such as our analytics and payment providers ("third-party"). Third-party providers act under their own privacy and cookie practices for the technologies they control.

11. Third-Party Providers

Cookies or similar technologies associated with the Platform may be set by:

  • PostHog and Google Analytics — product analytics and usage measurement.
  • Google Sign-In — where you choose to sign in with your Google account.
  • Google Maps — an embedded map is shown on place pages that have location information. Loading this embed sends a request to Google (including your IP address) and may allow Google to set its own cookies in your browser, under Google's own privacy practices, independent of Onyatrips.
  • Razorpay — within its own hosted payment checkout, under Razorpay's privacy and cookie practices, where you complete a payment.

We may introduce additional technologies and providers in the future. Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent before using non-essential technologies.

Where applicable law requires your consent before a particular technology is used, Onyatrips will seek that consent. Strictly necessary technologies, described in Section 3, do not require consent under most applicable frameworks because they are needed to deliver the Platform.

Where you have provided consent for a non-essential technology, you may withdraw it at any time through your browser settings as described in Section 14, or by contacting us at the address in Section 19. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred before withdrawal.

14. Browser Controls

You can control or delete cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view what cookies are stored, delete individual or all cookies, and block cookies from specific or all sites. Refer to your browser's help documentation for exact steps, as they vary by browser and version. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying signed in to the Platform.

15. Deleting Cookies

You can delete cookies already stored on your device at any time through your browser settings. Deleting authentication cookies will sign you out of the Platform.

16. International Considerations

Cookie and privacy laws vary by jurisdiction. Where applicable, we process personal data collected through cookies and similar technologies in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in India and, where relevant to you, frameworks such as the GDPR/UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA. This Policy does not represent that Onyatrips has been certified or independently audited under any of these frameworks.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as we add, remove, or change the technologies used on the Platform. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, for material changes, will provide additional notice and seek consent where required by applicable law.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
